|Distracted Driving Warning
Do not use this device while the vehicle is in motion or in any other driving situation. Using the device while driving can create dangerous situations where the driver may not be focused on the road or task at hand.
Using a Resistive Screen
Resistive Screens require a firmer, stronger touch to use than the more common types of touchscreens.
Do NOT use sharp objects, ballpoint pens, etc. on the 2020 touch screen.
Expanding Notification Bar
- Press and hold the black bar at the top of the screen until a white bar appears just under it.
- Pull down to expand the notification window.
- To hold the window open, it must be pulled down to the bottom; otherwise the window will automatically close.
By pressing once, this button returns the user to the home screen.
The menu button allows quick access to a number of tools and options offered by the 2020 based on the current screen. Options may include:
Note: The Menu button has additional functions when using the stock Android applications.
Home Screen Navigation
There are two ways to navigate through the 2020 Home Screen. You can:
- Tap the arrows to shift between pages.
- Swipe the screen to the left or right to change pages.
To maintain driver safety, the 2020 disables certain functions when the vehicle is in motion and there is only one driver logged in. If a co-driver is logged in, the operation of the device will not change.

View Destination from Message
When a dispatcher sends a message that contains a properly formatted address, the address will appear as a blue link. The driver can tap on the address, which will then open in the Navigation app and automatically calculate a route.
Example address: 18200 Cascade Ave S, Seattle, WA 98188
Adjusting ETA/Time Remaining
Drivers may adjust the display time between ETA and Time Remaining to Destination within the Navigation application.
Once the Navigation application is open and a destination is set, touch one of the small displays beneath the map. A list of available display options appears for the selected window. The desired option can be selected, and pressing the Back button will return to the map with the selected option showing.
When the 2020 is ready to scan, the blue LED indicator will light up, and the scanning area along the side of the tablet will activate. If the blue LED is not active, scans will not take place. When not in use, the 2020 automatically disables the RFID reader.
Connecting to WiFi
Depending on the configuration of the wireless network that you are attempting to connect to, there may be a series of settings that you are asked for under the “Advanced” section. In most cases you will simply need to enter the network's password.
It usually isn’t necessary to modify any settings other than entering your Identity (username) and/or Password for secured networks; all other settings can be left to default. These additional settings, should they need to be configured, are visible by checking the “Show advanced options” check box above the cancel button.
If you are unable to connect to your WiFi connection, contact the administrator for specific settings.
Specify Asset Dimensions in Navigation
Note: Before adjusting the Asset Profile (Height, Width, Weight, Hazardous Cargo, etc.), the operator must coordinate with their dispatcher. Either the Dispatcher, in Ground Traffic Control or the operator, (on the tablet) should set the Asset Profile, but not both.
When using the Navigation Application, it’s critical that the specifications for the asset you are operating be factored into the routing.
To adjust the Vehicle Routing Profile, launch the Navigation application. Once in the navigation application, press the hard menu button, which will bring up the Navigation Menu.
Tap Route at the bottom of the screen and then tap Vehicle Routing Profile.
Enter in all of the necessary information to ensure a proper and safe route to your destination.
Navigation Units of Measure
When using the Navigation Application, you can view route length in either English (miles) or Metric (kilometers). This will also affect how you enter the Dimensions of the asset.
To adjust the Units of Measure, launch the Navigation application. Once in the navigation application, press the hard menu button, which will bring up the Navigation Menu.
Tap Settings at the bottom of the screen and then scroll to find Units of Measure. Tap Units of Measure and select either English or Metric.
