Introduction
GTC Fieldview is an Android app developed by Zonar that permits locating assets while out in the field, as well as getting brief statistics on their current motion. The app utilizes Google Maps technology to provide specific directions from the user's current location to a desired asset.
This article is intended to provide information on the use and troubleshooting of GTC Fieldview.
Logging In
GTC Fieldview does not use your email to log in! The app instead uses the API login information:
- Account code (must be lowercase)
- API Sign-On (found in Manage Users)
- Password (same as GTC password)
For more information on obtaining these credentials, see our Login FAQs page.
Map View
Upon logging in, you will be greeted with a map of all assets your Ground Traffic Control login is normally able to track.
If you have a location filter set on the Ground Traffic Control website, Fieldview will only show assets within that filter.
Only Standard assets are shown. Assets with the type Trailer, Dolly, Unknown, or ZTrak are not shown.
The map may be operated with normal finger gestures, and it also provides the following features:
The search bar allows typing in the name of any asset.
A large number of assets will automatically be collected in a cluster. Either tap the cluster to auto-zoom in to view those assets, or the cluster will break out into individual assets when pinch-zooming.
The zoom button in the upper right allows you to zoom to a preset distance around your current location of 3 miles, 25 miles, or All, which will zoom out far enough to show all assets you are able to see. Pinch-zooming will also work.
Tapping an icon on the map will zoom in close to the asset and provide address and last known motion status.
List View
The asset list is collapsed at the bottom of the page. Swiping up will display the list of assets and brief information about their statuses.
The blue button in the bottom right will provide different sorting options.

FAQs
Q: I'm unable to log into the Ground Traffic Control Fieldview App, why?
A: Ground Traffic Control FieldView requires Ground Traffic Control credentials and is permission based. The chart below provides specific login troubleshooting:
Login Error | Meaning | Solution |
---|---|---|
“Username and password do not match” | Either the username or password are incorrect. | Re-enter valid Ground Traffic Control credentials. |
“Customer XXX is invalid” | Incorrect account code used. | Re-enter valid Ground Traffic Control account code. |
”Oops! Looks like you don't have a mobile license.” | Proper account code used but not authorized to use Ground Traffic Control FieldView App. | Fieldview must be enabled for account. Contact your Zonar representative for details. |
”Permission Denied” | Account admin has not given you permission to use Ground Traffic Control FieldView. | Admin must enable “showposition” permission at a user level. |
“Server could not be found” | There are no network issues but app is still unable to connect to Zonar servers. | Try again later. |
“You’re not connected to the internet” | User is not connected to an internet source. | Connect to the internet. |
Q: Why don’t I see all my assets?
A: Ground Traffic Control FieldView respects user’s location permissions. Contact your Ground Traffic Control admin to make sure your location permissions are correct.
Q: Why are the time stamps for certain assets old?
A: Ground Traffic Control FieldView refreshes data every three (3) minutes and only tracks active assets. Older time stamps are a result of V3 network/connectivity issues. In situations where there is no cell service, data will be cached and the V3 will “phone home” upon regaining connectivity.
