Overview
This guide describes the process of removing the V3 unit and installing the V4 unit, both from assignment in Ground Traffic Control and the physical vehicle.
Process
- Disconnect the V3 unit.
- Unplug the power connector (4-pin, nearest coaxial port) from the V3 unit at minimum, or all connectors in preparation for step 3.
- Change GPS Units In Ground Traffic Control.
- Use the Swap Tool (preferred if you are on site)
OR - In Manage Assets in Ground Traffic Control:
- Unassign the V3 from the asset and click Save.
- Edit the asset again and select the new V4, then click Save.
- Use the Swap Tool (preferred if you are on site)
- Connect the V4 Unit.
- Disconnect all cables from the V3 if you have not already done so in step 1, then connect them to the same ports on the V4.
- Turn the vehicle engine on.
- Verify the LED light states:
- Status: Solid green.
- GPS: Solid orange (or green if antenna is connected). May blink for 2-3 minutes while it establishes connection.
- Cellular: Solid green. May blink for 2-3 minutes while it establishes connection.
- Datalink 1 and 2: If engine data is expected, at least one should be green.
- Test any peripherals, such as EVIR, Z Pass, or I/Os.
- Turn the vehicle engine off.
- Verify the LED light states:
- Status: Blinking green.
- The other lights are irrelevant for this step.
- Run the QC Tool. All relevant systems should show as Pass.
If the QC Tool shows everything as Passed, the install is complete. If any relevant system Fails, troubleshooting may be required.
