Customer creation is crucial for businesses to understand, engage with, and serve their customers effectively. It forms the foundation for building long-lasting relationships, driving sales and revenue, and maintaining a competitive edge in the market. Within FieldSync, the Customer database is a required element for scheduling jobs, tracking Estimates and sending Invoices.
Customers are created by either Coordinators or the Account Administrator, within the Back Office.
Begin by clicking the Add New button in the upper left-corner.
Then select Customer.
The First and Last Name along with Email Address and Phone Number are required fields. Mobile phone numbers are preferred, as the FieldSync software will trigger automated SMS messages when Jobs are scheduled, when the Technician is on their way and a ‘Thank You’ message when the Job is Complete.
An optional Company can also be entered. The choice is available to use the company name in place of the customer name in regards to estimates and invoices.
After entering the Customer Details, the Address will need to be listed on the right-hand side and the Customer saved.
If utilizing the QuickBooks integration, customer information will be automatically loaded into FieldSync during the integration process. As new customers are added to FieldSync moving forward those customers will be exported into QuickBooks as well.
Bulk upload for Customer is also available via the Upload CSV button.
Press Download CSV template, then fill in the customer information.
Use the Upload CSV button to select the completed template, then press Upload.
Customers cannot be deleted once saved, as this will adversely affect the FieldSync records. However edits can be made to the customer information at any time.
To edit a Customer, locate them on the list using the Search field and then click the ID# to the left of their name. The customer information will then populate to the left. Press the edit button in the upper right corner.
To view Customer history (jobs, estimates, etc.) click ‘See More Details…’
The Customer Job History & Details, Estimates, Invoices, Location Notes, Unpaid Balances and Billing History will now be visible.
