Admin Hobbs Meter: Clicking on this link will allow the manual entry for the Hobbs Meter readings for an asset. See below for tips and the preferred method of collecting this information.
Recommended Collection Workflow
Here is a quick workflow to improve your collection and entry of Hobbs meter values:
- Record the asset name and engine hours total from the asset.
- Power off the asset to synchronize the hours from the GPS with Ground Traffic Control.
- Enter the values into the Admin Hobbs Meter form before the asset is keyed on again.
Two Methods for Entering Hobbs Meter Readings
Method A
Note: This is the preferred method for entering Hobbs meter values.
For this method, a physical reading of the Hobbs meter will be required for each asset. Once these values are collected, they can be entered into Ground Traffic Control directly without any manual calculation. Click on Admin Hobbs Meter hyperlink to begin.
Physical Meter Data Entry
- Find the Asset in the first column.
- Enter the hours from the physical meter reading into the Meter Value field.
- Click the Update button.
- When all required values have been entered, click the Close Window button at the bottom.
Method B
This is the non-preferred method for entering Hobbs meter values.
For this method, a physical reading of the meter is optional. If these values are collected, they can be entered into Ground Traffic Control as you would in “Method A” above. If the physical meter values are unavailable, an offset based on the old method of engine hour collection can be calculated. Click on Admin Hobbs Meter hyperlink to begin.
Existing Engine Hour Data Entry
- Find the Asset in the first column.
- Enter the value from the Engine Hours recorded above into the Offset Value.
- Click the Update button to the right.
- When all required values have been entered, click the Close Window button at the bottom.
