The Asset Utilization report is used to monitor asset utilization rates within your fleet. The data for this report is obtained from the “GPS Engine Hours” report within GTC.
A benefit of this report is the ability to track a vehicle's activity and use within a zone to show where your vehicles are utilized most.
This report is not used for electric vehicles.
To access the Utilization report, from the main menu click Reports, then go to Fuel, Diagnostics & Usage and click Asset Utilization.
At least one zone is required to use this report.

Suggested Uses
We have seen the Asset Utilization report used by customers who have created zones around all of their job sites. This allows them to see if an asset or group of assets is being utilized to maximum capacity, or if a particular site needs additional resources. This allows the comparison of those assets based on GPS Engine Hours. It is not uncommon for this report to be used to determine billing for specific job-sites or reporting usage hours to various entities such as government municipalities.

Utilization Target
You can adjust the way the report results are displayed through the “Utilization Hours Configuration” by clicking Change to the right of Utilization Target.
Utilization Hours Configuration allows adjustment of:
Budget Utilization Hours Per Day | The number of hours the asset could be used. |
Target Utilization | The range, in percent, of how much the asset would be used in an ideal situation. |
Include Weekends? | If an asset’s weekend use is factored into the report. |
Once you have configured the Utilization Hours, click Save to take you back to the report. If you had already run a report and then adjusted the configuration, the report will automatically update to reflect the new configuration.
Results
The Asset Utilization report result allows the comparison of all assets that meet the report criteria in a pie chart and in list form. If a zone did not have activity during the time and date range selected, it will not be shown in the results.
Once the results are displayed, you can hover over each area in the pie chart and it will display the number of assets and the percentage of the target.
Clicking on the zone will display a list of all the assets that are included in the data.
Each asset that met the criteria of the report is listed, showing the utilization based on the configuration set under the “Target Utilization” with the total hours used during the time and date range. The results also show the average hours per day.
Clicking on the Asset Utilization bar will take you to the GPS Engine Hours report for that asset during the current time and date range specified in the utilization report.
