Zonar EVIR records the inspections performed on specified vehicles in your fleet or on rental vehicles. Tags are not necessary to use the EVIR mobile app to conduct an inspection.
Tagged Inspections
On tagged assets, NFC tags provided by Zonar are installed in different areas of the vehicle. The inspector is required to walk to each area of the vehicle and scan the tag prior to performing the inspection for that area.
During the inspection:
- Select the area (or zone) to be inspected from the List or Map View.
- Select the method to verify you are in that zone:
- Tagged/TAG SCAN: Enables the NFC scanner to detect the tag. Scan the tag by placing the back of the Android device against the tag for two seconds. Continue with inspection.
- Not Tagged/TAP to ADD: If a tag is unreadable or missing, note the reason and continue with the inspection.
Tagless Inspections (DVIR)
The big difference between tagless inspections and tagged inspections, is that DVIR inspections apply if the asset lacks a Zonar Tag ID in Ground Traffic Control. The operator follows the same workflow as they would with an inspection which requires tags until they arrive at the "Zone Selection Screen". At this point the operator would usually scan a tag, however with DVIR enabled the operator simply needs to tap on the line for the zone. They will then be taken to the conditions page as if they had scanned a zone tag.
If your fleet does not use Zonar tags to indicate inspection zones, the option to scan a tag on your asset will not appear. Tap the area of the vehicle from the List or Map View and inspect the components in that area.
Tagless Rentals
Rental equipment or vehicles are always a tagless (DVIR) inspection. Because rental assets are generally not entered in the Zonar EVIR account prior to inspection. rental asset information must be manually entered prior to inspection.
Required information includes license plate and VIN or serial number. The option to scan a tag on your rental asset will not appear. Tap the area of the vehicle from the List or Map View and inspect the components in that area.
