The Status tab lists the most recently reported data collected by vehicles within a fleet. This data can be displayed on a Unit-by-Unit basis or by assigned Tags.
Glossary
Filter : Clicking this icon opens a side menu with report filtering options:
- Tags: Filters results based on Tag assignments
- Events: Filters results based on last reported vehicle events
- Last Reported: Filters results based on the last time the vehicle reported its location

More Filters:
- Offline Devices: Units currently classified as non-reporting.
- Linked Units: Displays units with roadside cameras assigned to them.
Bulk Settings : Can only be clicked when multiple units have been selected. This feature enables mass updates to units.
- Unit: Use to change the icon type of the selected units.
- Tags: Use to mass assign Tags to the selected units.
Export : Downloads listed data from the Status tab in a CSV or PDF file format.
Change column order : Click this icon to add, remove, or reposition data columns.
Settings : Click this icon to send special commands to selected units.
- Outputs: Triggers a change to a unit's installed output wires. Outputs can be configured in Manage.
- Enable/Disable Starter: Sends a command to units that activates or disables installed Starter Disable accessories.
- Locate: Sends a message to a unit's installed GPS to report its current location. This command will not wake up inactive units.
Unit : Displays vehicle profiles individually
Tag : Displays vehicles based on their Tag assignments
Search: Filters results based on a vehicle's Unit Label. Listed results update in real time.
Vehicle Overview : Clicking this icon opens a window that displays the vehicle's recently recorded information. This includes the last recorded GPS location, the option to review vehicle trails recorded over an 8 day period, and--if a camera is assigned to the vehicle--a live feed and event history.
Unit Settings
Clicking on a unit's name will open its Unit Settings. Unit Settings has four different menus that can be edited. Changes entered here will be reflected across Zonar Ignition. Unit Settings can also be edited in Manage.
Users must have the Edit unit settings Status permission enabled in order to access Unit Settings. User permissions can be adjust in Account.
Unit
Unit Label and Icon Type:
- Filling in the Unit Label will update the vehicle's name.
- Tapping the Custom toggle on and clicking the icon to the left of the Unit Label will list icons that can be assigned to the unit. Icons must created in the Manage tab before they can be selected.
ECU: Click to mass enable or disable values that can be pulled by an installed GPS unit.
Speed: Click the ECU toggle to set if the unit's speed is detected by its ECU or by its installed GPS unit.
Odometer: Click the ECU toggle to set if the unit's odometer is recorded by its ECU or by its installed GPS unit. Value selected affects the Dash Reading value.
Dash Reading:
- ECU: If ECU is toggled on, this value will update based on the most recently reported total vehicle miles.
- GPS: If ECU is toggled off, the value will update based on distance traveled reported by the installed GPS unit. Enter the vehicle's odometer minus the reported GPS distance for Ignition to display an accurate Dash Reading.
Engine Hours: Click the ECU toggle to set if the unit's Engine Hours are recorded by its ECU or by its installed GPS unit. Value selected affects the Actual value.
Actual:
- ECU: If ECU is toggled on, this value will update based on the most recently reported engine hours.
- GPS: If ECU is toggled off, the value will update based on the engine hours reported by the installed GPS unit. Enter the vehicle's engine hours minus the reported GPS engine hours for Ignition to display an accurate value.
Assigned Driver: Used to assign driver profiles to a unit. Driver profiles can be created in the Manage tab.
Location: Used to assign a location to a unit. Locations can be created in the Manage tab.
Timezone: Used to assign a unit to a specific timezone.
Asset
External ID: Custom identifier used for API integrations.
Status: Specifies if the vehicle is active or inactive. Inactive units will not display by default on Ignition.
License Plate: The license plate number of the vehicle.
Registration Country: National jurisdiction of the vehicle.
Registration State: Regional jurisdiction of the vehicle.
Registration Expiration Date: The expiration data of the vehicle's registration.
VIN: The Vehicle Identifier Number. If the ECU toggle is active this value will fill in automatically.
Make: The vehicle's manufacturer. If ECU is active, click Decode VIN to automatically fill in this value.
Model: The vehicle's model type. If ECU is active, click Decode VIN to automatically fill in this value.
Year: The vehicle's year. If ECU is active, click Decode VIN to automatically fill in this value.
Engine Liters: How many liters the engine holds. If the ECU toggle is active this value will fill in automatically..
MPG
Highway: The vehicle's estimated MPG while on a highway.
City: The vehicle's estimated MPG while in city limits.
EVIR
Type: Vehicle type. Options include Standard, Trailer, Dolly, and Unknown.
Subtype: Identifier for the type of vehicle. Vehicle subtypes can be created in Manage.
Inspection Device Type: Indicates if the vehicle receives EVIR inspections from a 2010 handheld, a managed tablet, or through a mobile device with EVIR Mobile.
Inspection Tag ID: The vehicle's Asset ID Tag number.
Zonar ELD
Power Unit Number: An asset identifier used by the FMCSA for ELD compliant vehicles. This value is required for all vehicles using Zonar Logs.
Notes
Used for notating special or critical information related to the unit.
Tags
Preexisting Tags can be assigned to units in this menu. Multiple tags can be assigned to a unit.
Additional Tags can be created in the Manage tab.
To keep any of the changes entered click the Save button at the bottom of the menu.
