The Driver Performance tab provides comprehensive driver metrics and scorecards to help fleet managers monitor and improve driver safety behavior.
Glossary
Information : Seen on the Dashboard tab. Hovering your cursor over this icon will show either the date range or provide context for the data displayed.
Export : Allows users to download listed data. Exports are available in .PDF and CSV formats.
Filters : Opens the Advanced Filters menu panel.
Change Column Order : Allows users to disable and enable column categories. Column order can be rearranged by clicking and dragging a column title.
Question : Seen on the Drivers, Events and Cases tabs. Hovering your cursor over this icon will provide context for how certain driver data is displayed.
Play : Seen on the Events tab. This icon indicates that a risk event has a video record. Clicking this icon will open a side menu that summarizes the event, displays a video recording, and provides action options for fleet managers.
Add : Allows users to create coaching cases on the Cases tab.
Settings : Seen on the Drivers, Event and Cases tabs. Allows users to perform actions specific to the active tab.
Using the Driver Performance Tab
Driver Performance is organized into four tabs — Dashboard, Drivers, Events, and Cases. The data that makes up these tabs is gathered from GPS units and cameras used by a fleet.
Dashboard
The Dashboard tab consolidates a fleet's recorded Risk Events and Coaching data. This data is displayed in the form of cards.
Dashboard Cards
Event Highlights: Shows prioritized event types at the top of the page. Listed event types display with a hyperlink that when clicked that will take the user to the Events tab with the results filtered to show that event type. The events shown can be adjusted by clicking the Settings icon.
Risk Events, Grouped by Driver: Groups reported events based on their assigned Driver. Events can be sorted by Driver Name, Risk Score, and Total Events reported.
Risk Events, Grouped by Tag: Groups reported events based on the vehicle or driver's assigned Tag.
Pending Coaching Cases: Shows all Coaching cases currently under review. Clicking View will open the Cases tab.
Risk Event Distribution: Displays all reported events in a pie chart. Hovering a cursor over an individual slice of the pie chart will display which event it represents. Clicking a slice of the pie chart will display a breakdown of the event type's severity level.
Cases (Coaching) Summary: Looks at all cases reported in Driver Performance. Clicking View will open the Cases tab. Clicking Create New will open the Create Coaching Cases menu in the Cases tab.
Driver Performance Coach: Shows performance metrics for all cases.
Drivers
The Drivers tab summarizes coaching data that has been attributed to a fleet's drivers.
Clicking a driver's name will open a summary card that lists their Driver ID, their assigned supervisor, and their Tag assignments. Clicking the hyperlink for a driver in the Risk Events column will open their assigned events in the Events tab.
Clicking the Settings icon allows fleet managers to single out a driver for coaching.
Driver Overview
Clicking the hyperlink for a driver in the ID column will open their Driver Overview. This page expands a driver's listed information with the following cards:
Heat Map: Displays a driver's total recorded events based on their count and severity.
Cases: Lists all Cases that have been assigned to a driver. Clicking View will open the Cases tab, filtered to results for the driver. Clicking the hyperlink to a case number will open the details to the case.
Risk Event Distribution: Displays all reported events in a pie chart. Hovering a cursor over an individual slice of the pie chart will display which event it represents. Clicking a slice of the pie chart will display a breakdown of the event type's severity level.
Event Summary: Lists the number of events assigned to the driver.
Events
The Events tab lists the most recent risk events recorded by a fleet. From this tab fleet managers can bulk or individually curate risk events, assign events to drivers, and flag events for coaching.
Assigning a Driver
Before an Event can be sent for Coaching it needs to be assigned to a driver profile.
- Click Add Driver
.
- This will open the Trip - Assign Driver menu. Click the drop menu under Driver and select the operator.
- Click Save.
This will assign the driver profile to that event along with any other events the Driver Performance tab has grouped together with it.
If an incorrect driver profile was selected click the driver's name under the Driver column and then click Change Driver to repeat the process.
Reviewing an Event
- Click the Play
button.
- In the event menu, review the event stats, video recording and map location.
- Click the Select Status drop menu and choose the most appropriate option.
- If necessary, click the Add a comment... field and provide a note about the event.
- Click Save.
Creating a Coaching Case
Once an event has been assigned to a driver profile it can be converted into a Case. This can be done for individual events by clicking the Settings icon and clicking Coach Now or for multiple events by clicking the Bulk Settings
icon and clicking Send to Coaching. Once done the newly created case number will list for the event under the Ref Case column.
Cases
The Cases tab is where fleet managers can processes coaching plans for risk events assigned to their drivers.
Cases can either be sent to the tab from the Events tab or created by clicking the Add icon. Once a case has been created it can be assigned to a Zonar Ignition admin--known as a Coach--to set metrics to track.
Adding Cases
Users can instruct the Cases tab to scour the Events tab for risk events that could qualify as a Case. To mass create cases follow these steps:
- Click the Add
icon.
- Click the Miles Driven drop menu and select a distance.
- Click the Limited By drop menu and select the date range to omit last drivers who have been recently coached.
- Decide to include or omit events already queued for coaching.
- Click the By Frequency drop menu to determine how many of an event type to include.
- Click the Maximum Events per Event Type drop menu to set the number of examples per event allowed.
- Click Send.
Once finished the Cases tab will provide a results menu indicating how many cases have been created or updated, and how many Events were ignored during the case creation process.
Reviewing Cases
On any case line, clicking the hyperlink under the Case ID column will open a case. An open case will have three segments.
Overview
The Overview tab will display the basic information to the case. The Risk card displays what events triggered the case. The Coaching History card displays the current status of the case. The Performance History card lists relevant metrics to the driver the case is assigned to.
Risk
The Risk tab shows the events that were collected to create the case. Admins can review video footage of events, adjust event statuses if needed, and add notes to each event.
Improvement Plan
The Improvement Plan tab is where admins can set coaching targets for the driver. Once a plan has been set the admin can click the Finish at the top of the page to begin the evaluation phase of driver coaching.
