The Maps tab provides real time and recent reporting of a fleet on an interactive map. Featuring a robust suite of tools, fleet managers can use Maps to track their vehicles fleet-wide and review in-depth analysis of every vehicle's recent activity.
Maps has two primary areas where users can interact: the broader map and the Assets panel on the left side of the page.
Map View
The interactive map contains a wide range of tools. These include basic navigation controls, Map Tools that augment the default map, and Map Utilities administrators can use to directly interact with the map and the fleet information displayed.
Map Controls
Map Controls provide navigation options for the interactive map.

Search
: Looks up addresses and geolocations.
- Legend: Displays the most recently reported asset status.

Request Video
: If a vehicle has an onboard camera device installed this feature can be used to pull recorded footage from recent trips. This tool can only be selected when a vehicle trip has been opened from the Asset Panel.

Zoom In
: Click to manually zoom in.

Zoom Out
: Click to manually zoom out.

Expand
: Zooms out map to show all fleet assets.

Current Location
: If Location Services are enabled, this centers the map based on your current location.

Show/Hide Geofences
: Creates an overlay on the map showing all created geofences.
Map Utilities
Clicking the Map Utilities button will open a menu with interactive tools.

Geofences
: Geofences are boundaries placed around a property or geographical area that are stored on compatible GPS units. Whenever the a unit with a geofence assignment crosses this boundary it will notify Zonar Ignition of the event.

Routes

Vehicle Directions
: Creates turn-by-turn navigation instructions. Start and End points can be set to addresses, Units, map clicks, or Landmarks.

Find Nearest
: This tool allows users to verify the closest vehicle, equipment or landmark to a location or unit.

Vicinity Tool
: Allows users to review activity within a defined geographic area of up to 1 mile and over a 12 hour time period. Any tracked vehicles and equipment reporting events within the search area will be listed.

Map Tools
Clicking the Map Tools button will open a menu with options to adjust what the interactive map displays.

: Displays a list of created Tags in the account and provides additional notes if a tag has vehicles or landmarks assigned to them.

: Allows users to draw a shape around sections of the map to quickly select units.

Map Settings
: Provides granular settings for assets, landmarks, geofences, map display features and data refresh rates.

Layers
: Adjusts the style of the map and allows users to enable map contextual overlays.

Multi-View Mode
: Opens a dashboard that allows multiple maps to be open at once. Designed for multitasking.

Center on Fleet
: Click to display all units on the map.

Fullscreen
: Expands map to a full monitor display.
Asset Panel
The left side Assets panel is where fleet managers can review in-depth information recorded by their vehicles.
Filters
By default, assets list in on the Assets panel in alpha-numerical order based on their Asset Number. Results can be adjusted with the following filters:
- Tags: Sorts assets by their group assignment.
- Asset Attributes: This feature is on the way. Check back in a future update.
- Asset Status: Sorts assets based on their last reported status.
- Alerts: This feature is on the way. Check back in a future update.

Sort by: Allows for quick asset sorting based on one of the following options:
- Unit Name
- Asset Status
- Speed
- Assigned Driver
Vehicle Card & Vehicle Overview
Assets are displayed on the panel in the form of cards. Each card will display the following information:
- Asset Number
- Assigned Driver
- Vehicle Status
- Live Tracking
- Last GPS Report Time
Selecting an asset from the panel will trigger two actions. On the panel, the asset's card will expand to provide the last reported address, geolocation, and a Trips button. On the map, the display will zoom in and center on the selected asset.
Vehicle Overviews
Selecting either an asset card from the panel or the asset's icon on the map will open a Vehicle Overview card. These cards will display a summary of the vehicle's information. This includes the last reported vehicle status, last reported address, current heading, assigned driver profile, and a camera view (if paired with one).
Vehicle Overviews can be expanded to display additional information sourced from the asset's profile and other Zonar Ignition reports.
Trips
On the bottom right corner of a selected asset card, the Trips button will appear. Selecting Trips will open the Trip History of the vehicle for the current day. Trip history has two component, summary data for the entire day's activity and the individual trips that comprise that data.
Reviewing a Trip
In Zonar Ignition, trips group all vehicle activity that occur between Power-ON and Power-OFF events. To view a trip, click Select on any of the posted trip cards. Once selected, the map will zoom and center on the path taken by the asset during the trip.
A timeline bar will appear will appear at the bottom of the map. The timeline will break up vehicle activity based on the recorded event type. Hovering your cursor over any part of the timeline will move the vehicle's icon to match on the path. Clicking on the timeline will display the GPS event that was recorded, with options to see the address of the event and open the video request feature. .
On the right edge of the timeline is the Events drop menu. Selecting Events will display a checklist of GPS event types that can be manually toggled on and off.
Requesting Video
With a trip selected, fleet managers can also request video footage from assets with camera devices installed by clicking the Request Video button located at the top right of the map.
Once selected, the map will highlight the trip path and ask you to click on a part of the trip to set as the starting point. This will place a Start and End icon on the path and open the Request Video menu.
- Click and drag the icons until they cover the desired video clip range. The maximum clip duration is five minutes.
- From the Request Video menu select the Camera View, video resolution, the video style, and if the footage should blur any vehicle passengers.
- Click Submit to request the video.
