The EVIR tab hosts an account's Electronic Vehicle Inspection Reports. The EVIR tab sorts this information based on inspection results, reported defects, compliance tracking, and missing inspections. The final tab, Settings, provides administrative tools to adjust EVIR Mobile, data retention, and other metrics.
Inspections
The Inspections tab displays the EVIR inspections submitted to an account. Inspections display on the tab in the form of a table.
Results can be sorted with the filters bar at the top of the page and columns on the inspections table can be toggled on and off with the Show/Hide Columns button.
How to Review an Inspection
Clicking on the line of an inspection opens its Inspection Details. This screen displays information about the asset, the inspector, and any defects found. Inspection Details are broken up into the following sections:
- Asset Information: Vehicle number, home location, VIN, and other identity information associated with the asset.
- Inspector: The operator that performed the inspection.
- Inspection Detail Information: Accessory information from the inspection. Includes information relating to odometer, fuel level, Hazmat and Oversized declarations and if any photos were taken during the inspection.
- Timing Information: Timestamps of when an inspection was started, marked complete, certified, uploaded to Zonar servers, and the total duration of the inspection.
- Inspection Results: Mentions how many defects were reported during the inspection.
- Zones & Defects: Provides results for every zone entered on the inspection. Groups results based on the defect type reported.
- Device Information: Lists the device type that performed the inspection, the inspection type selected, and the approximate address the inspection was submitted from.
Assets with Open Defects
The Asset with Open Defects tab shows all defects that have been reported in EVIR inspections. This report lets you sort and filter existing defects, review open defects and defect history for assets, and mark defects as repaired.
Assets with open defects display on the tab in the form of a table. Results can be sorted with the filters bar at the top of the page and columns on the inspections table can be toggled on and off with the Show/Hide Columns button.
Defect and Repair History
Selecting a line's Asset Name will open the defect and repair history for the vehicle. This page has two main sections.
Open and pending defects: This section displays all open defects that have been reported. Defects can be closed from this card by selecting the defect's checkbox and marking it as Pending, Repair Not Needed, or Repaired. If any option is selected, an additional menu will open and ask for repair details before the status change can be submitted.
Closed / Ignored defects: This sections displays the asset's closed defects. Clicking a line's link under the Repaired column will provide a summary of the action that closed the defect.
Compliance
Inspection compliance tracking is currently under development. More information will be provided when this feature has been released.
Missing Inspections
The Missing Inspections tab is a collection of reports helps identify assets without inspections, assets that move beyond the specified threshold without an inspection, and inspectors who haven’t submitted their inspections.
Instructions on how to set up Missing Inspection Rules can be found in the Missing Inspections Settings section of this guide.
Missing Inspections sorts its results into three tabs:
Assets (with GPS): This tab tracks missed inspections for assets with associated GPS data to see which assets have not received an inspection, based on the configured rules, within a given time frame.
Assets (All): This tab tracks missed inspections for all the assets in the fleet whether or not the asset performed a trip. It identifies assets without inspections in the specified date range. When the report is filtered by inspection type, it lists assets lacking inspections of that type.
Inspectors: This tab tracks inspectors who have not completed any inspections within the date range specified. If the results are filtered on specific type of inspection, the report would show all the inspectors who have not performed that type of inspection.
Settings
The Settings tab is where companies can set specific rules and behaviors for their EVIR inspections. When selected the tab has two adjustable rules and a hyperlink to an expanded rule creation tool.
More information about Missing Inspection Settings can be found in the next section. The adjustable settings include:
Default Zone Layout: Sets the default zone layout used for all new inspections on EVIR Mobile.
Inspection & Image Retention: Determines long inspections and images are kept on file.
Missing Inspection Settings
The Missing Inspections tab relies on rules that can be created in the Missing Inspections Settings. To open these settings click the Missing Inspection Rules report link at the top of the page.
On this page administrators can create Rules that define what counts as a missed inspection. When a rule is created they can be assigned to vehicles in an account's fleet. Once assigned, those rules will dictate how the Missing Inspections tab populates results.
