Logging In
Opening the Zonar Driver application will populate the user sign in portal.
Enter a valid email and password then tap Sign In.
After signing in, users will be asked to choose their assigned asset.
Assigning an asset allows drivers to receive vehicle-specific alerts. In addition, once a driver is assigned to a vehicle that information is relayed to fleet managers in Zonar Ignition and Ground Traffic Control.
Users can either scroll the asset list or search for a vehicle. Selecting an asset will open its confirmation menu.
Tap Confirm to verify a vehicle assignment and complete the sign in process.
Using the Zonar Driver Application
After signing in, users will be greeted with the Home screen.
The Home screen displays the vehicle the user is assigned to and any Zonar Driver application feature available to the user.
The Zonar Driver application supports the following features.
Asset Association
After signing in, the driver's selected asset will display at the top of the Home screen. Tapping this field will open its Asset Details.
In the Asset Details screen drivers can review summary information about their assigned vehicle and change their vehicle assignment.
How to Change Assets
If a driver is changing vehicles during a shift they can update their vehicle assignment with the Change Asset button.
To change a vehicle:
- From the Asset Details screen tap Change Asset.
- In the Change Asset menu, either use the search or scroll feature to find a vehicle.
- Tap the desired vehicle.
- Tap Confirm to change vehicle assignments and return to the Home screen.
How to Release an Asset
Releasing an asset removes all vehicle assignments from the driver. After an asset has been released, the driver will no longer receive vehicle alerts and asset-specific data will stop syncing with Zonar Ignition and Ground Traffic Control.
To release an asset:
- From the Asset Details screen tap Release Asset.
- Tap Release to confirm.
Driver Performance
In Zonar Ignition the Driver Performance report uses risk events captured by fleet cameras and combines them with severity scores to aggregate a Risk Score for drivers. As more risk events are collected fleet managers can use them to create and assign cases and improvement plans to company drivers.
In the Zonar Driver application, drivers are given access to review the risk events that define their Risk Score and see the set benchmarks of their improvement plans.
Prerequisites
In order to view Driver Performance features the driverperformancedriver permission needs to be enabled to the driver's User profile in either Zonar Ignition or Ground Traffic Control.
To enable the permission on either platform follow the steps below:
Zonar Ignition
- From the side panel click Administration & Platform and then click Admin.
- Click the Account Settings tab and then click Users.
- On the User's line click Settings.
- Search for and enable the driverperformancedriver permission.
- Click Apply changes.
Ground Traffic Control
- From the Home screen click Manage and under System Settings click Users.
- On the User's line click settings.
- Search for and enable the driverperformancedriver permission.
- Click Update User.
Risk Score
On the Home screen, drivers can see their Risk Score Card. The card displays their Risk Score on a scale from 0-100 and uses that score to advise the driver's Risk Status.
By tapping Review Events a driver can see the video events that informed the Risk Score.
Review Events
The Review Events screen displays video recordings of documented risk events.
Each event has a title of the reported infraction, the date and time it occurred, the event's impact on the driver's Risk Score, and a video clip. Tapping the video reveals additional playback options.
Events are reviewed individually. If a driver agrees with the content of the event footage it can be closed by tapping Next or holding the video card and swiping right.
Once submitted, the event is removed from the list of reviewable events.
How to Challenge an Event
If a driver disagrees with the content of a recorded event it can be challenged by tapping Challenge or holding the video card and swiping left.
Once an event has been challenged drivers have two options to respond. Tapping Extenuating Circumstances informs fleet managers that more context is needed to fully understand the video clip. Tapping False Positive informs fleet managers that the video clip contradicts the event.
Once an option has been selected, tap Submit Challenge to remove the event from the list of reviewable events.
Status
On the Status screen drivers can review any Improvement Plan that has been assigned to them from the Driver Performance report.
Improvement Plans list the Risk Score and Average Event targets assigned to them and how many miles of driving they have to reach those metrics.
Settings
Tapping the More icon from the bottom of the screen will open a menu with user and application settings.
The following settings are currently supported.
- Profile: Hosts driver overviews, account and security options.
- Settings: Hosts application preferences, notification preferences, display settings, and application version information.
- Change Asset / Release Asset: Allows driver to perform the same asset assignment actions seen in the Asset Details screen.
