Uninstalling the Telematics Control Unit (TCU):
Most bus installs use the vehicle diagnostic port for power and engine data sourcing.
- If you do not know where the TCU is installed follow the diagnostic cable from the vehicle diagnostic port.
- The diagnostic cable splits into two male plugs and connects with the TCU: One 4-pin connector and one 10-pin connector. Disconnect these from TCU to cut off power and data.
- With all cables disconnected, press the hinge of the TCU mounting bracket to loosen its grip and remove the box.
- If there is no intention to use the removed TCU in another vehicle, its monthly service charge can be discontinued by processing a Service Deactivation form.
For more information on how to process this change, please consult our Service Deactivation guide.

Uninstalling a Data I/O Cable
When a Zonar 5-pin data I/O cable is used, a male 12-pin connector is plugged into the TCU. This plug contains five insulated wires.
- Follow these wires from the 12-pin connector and disconnect them from their end sources.
- Once all five wires have been disconnected from their end sources, unplug the 12-pin connector from the TCU.
Uninstalling a Samsung Tab Active Tablet
- Remove the Samsung Tab Active series tablet from the docking station.
- Unplug the power/serial dock adaptor 6-pin connector and the Tab Active USB cable from the docking station.
- Remove the docking station and RAM mount.
- Unplug the 4-pin connector from the telematics bundle from the short 4-pin connection on the Tab Active power/serial bundle.
- Unplug the 8-pin connector from the TCU.
- If the TCU is not being removed from the vehicle, plug the 4-pin connector from the cable bundle into the TCU.
