The RideView Companion application allows users to review driver trip information and recordings, and manage installed cameras. The application is designed to work in close proximity with Zonar Coach cameras.
User Set Up
In order to use the RideView Companion app a driver needs to have a profile created in the Zonar Coach web application.
The user name will be the email address assigned to the user's Driver Profile.
After a Driver Profile is created the user will be sent a verification email to the provided address. This email will instruct the recipient to reset their password.
Download the Application
To install the application, search for and download the RideView Companion app in the App Store or the Google Play Store.
Logging Into the Application
First Time Login
During first time logins of the RideView Companion app users will encounter a brief introduction of the app's features.
Following a successful first time sign-in, users will be asked to select the the driver side of their vehicle.
Choose the appropriate side
Select Save Details.
The RideView Companion app will ask for permission to use Bluetooth.
Select Allow.
The RideView Companion app will ask for permission to search for local devices.
Select Allow.
The RideView Companion app will ask for consent for the camera to record audio during reported incidents.
Select I do not consent to audio recording.
Zonar Coach cameras do not record audio.
These options can be changed after signing into the RideView Companion application.
Logging into the Application
Select USA as the region.
USA must be selected regardless of location.
Select Login.
RideView Companion uses uses Amazon Cognito's Single Sign-On tool for user logins.
Select Continue.
Log into the application using the email address and password set to your Driver Profile.
Using the Application
After signing in, the RideView Companion app will provide four different menus.
Driver
The Driver menu is where a user can find their profile information and historical trip data.

Settings: Selecting the Settings cogwheel will let users to review their Driver Profile, allow users to change app settings, and is where users can log out of the RideView app.

Duration: Selecting the Calendar icon will allow users to adjust the date range of the trip and incident data pulled by the application.

Trips: Trips are the periods of vehicle activity where an asset was either powered on for longer than five minutes or covered a distance greater than one mile. This section will show users how many trips they have completed within the duration selected.
- Incidents: Incidents are driving events recorded by the installed camera during a trip. The requirements to trigger an incident are set in the Configurations menu of the Coach web application.
- Incident Summary: A visual summary of the types incidents reported during trips.

View Incidents: Selecting this will open the Incidents menu.
- All: Displays all reported Incidents in reverse chronological order.
- Coaching: Displays incidents chosen by Coach administrators(?) for drivers to review.
- Challenged: Displays incidents that Drivers have challenged the authenticity of.
- Highlights: Displays events for each incident category. Incidents shown are chosen based on the severity of each incident.
Reviewing and Challenging an Incident
- To review a reported incident, tap the All tab.
Incidents are listed in reverse chronological order and titled with the reported incident type. - Tap the incident card to open the Incident Details.
Video capture of the incident automatically plays. To expand or rewind tap the video for playback options.
- Once reviewed, the incident can be challenged by selecting Challenge incident.
The Challenge incident button can only be tapped after the entire video has played. - A challenged incident is indicated by a Challenge Raised banner.
- After raising a challenge, the incident is listed under the Challenge tab.
Coaching Incidents
Admins of the Zonar Coach web application have the ability to assign incidents to be reviewed to drivers.
- When an incident is assigned to a driver it appears in the Coaching tab.
- Tap the incident card to open the Incident Details.
Video capture of the incident will automatically play. Tap the video for playback options. - Admins have the ability to send comments related to the incident.
Drivers can respond to these messages up to three times. - Once reviewed, drivers can close the event by selecting Complete Coaching.
- Completed Coaching events will list under the Coaching tab with a green checkmark.
Dash Cam
The Dash Cam menu allows users to review and manage their vehicle's assigned camera.
This menu can only be accessed when a camera is assigned.
Connecting to a Camera
Once opened, the RideView Companion app uses your device's Bluetooth signal to locate a compatible camera.
For best results, have your vehicle's engine running.
Select the camera IMEI you want to connect to.
The RideView Companion app asks to join the camera's Wi-Fi network.
Tap Join to connect to the camera.
The Dash Cam Menu

Settings: Tap the Settings icon to adjust the volume of the installed camera, spoken language of the camera alerts, and internet connection settings.
Zonar Coach cameras do not record audio.

Show Guides: Displays a live feed of the installed camera with guide lines to confirm verify installation. Guides are available for both Road Facing and Driver Facing views.

Live Preview: Displays a live feed of the installed camera. Tap the Switch Camera icon to change the camera view between Road Facing and Driver Facing views.

Dash Cam Information: Opens a pop-up menu that displays the camera's model, ID, serial number, internal and external storage capacity, the customer account the camera is assigned to, and the current application version of the RideView Companion app.

Reboot dash cam: Allows users to reset the assigned dash cam.
Selecting this option will return the user to the main menu and ask the user to wait for the camera to finish rebooting before opening the Dash Cam menu again.
- Switch dash cam: Allows the user to change their camera assignment to a different dash cam in the RideView Companion app.
Diagnostics
The Diagnostics menu displays available metrics of the vehicle's assigned camera.
This menu can only be accessed when a dash cam is assigned.

Storage Space: Shows how much internal storage is left on the camera's microSD card. Storage is mostly used by trip footage.
The RideView Companion app will automatically delete the oldest footage stored on the camera in order to make space for new trip footage.

Camera Mounting: Selecting this displays the current alignment settings of the installed camera.
- Server Connection: Displays the last time the installed camera connected to the internet.
Help
The Help menu provides users with information about tasks and features of the RideView Companion app.
